The crocus marks the full installation of spring, being also called the flower of love.
One of its legend tells us that St. Valentine, being imprisoned, fell in love with the blind daughter of a guard and by sending her a marigold flower as a gift, she was cured. So the crocus was the first thing she saw, along with the note that accompanied it and on which were written the famous words: "From your Valentine".
